Jean Efron, Principal

Jean Efron is the Principal of Jean Efron Art Consultants LLC. Prior to opening the firm in 1973 she was the Fine Arts Officer of the US General Services Administration. During her career, Jean has been selected for numerous professional honors. She has juried and curated exhibitions for institutions such as the Corcoran Gallery of Art/WPA, the City of Baltimore, the Smithsonian Craft Show and The College Board as well as various university gallery and local exhibitions. Jean has spoken at venues that include the Smithsonian Institution Resident Associates Program, the University of Pennsylvania Regional Trustees Council, and US News & World Report among others. Her research on art of the 1930’s and the outdoor sculpture of Washington of that period has been published. Jean is a member of professional fine art organizations including the Association of Professional Art Advisors (APAA) where she is a Board Member, ArtTable, and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). Jean holds an M.A. in the History of Art and Architecture from George Washington University in Washington, DC, and a B.A. in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

 

 


Jane Snyder, Project Manager

Jane first came to work with Jean after finishing her degree in Art History at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.  She returned to the firm after completing an MA in Art History from Christie’s Education, London, England.  Before joining the firm again in early 2014, Jane held positions in a commercial gallery and as Assistant Registrar at the Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio.

 

 

 

 

 


Internships: How to Apply Jean Efron Art Consultants LLC offers fall, spring, and summer internships for undergraduate and graduate art history and fine arts students throughout the year. Our internship program provides students with an opportunity to experience the day to day in a corporate art consultancy. On a daily basis as well as operations of the office, interns are assigned long term projects such as client and artist development and provide assistance with client projects.   Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
